David has incorporated Elvis-esque moves into his routine and still loves that mic stand, to spin (and shake his booty, which invariably makes all the girls scream "I love you, Dave!"). Seeing M & D duet on "Waiting for the Night" is mesmerizing. Their clothing is inspired-- I always wonder if they work with a specific house or have a designer for their stage-wear. Anton's visuals are striking, as always, and the tribute to Andy is very fitting-- one of the most famous photos of Andy-- really poignant. M, as always, sounds like a dark angel, and D is a baritone lover with one drop of Dracula and another drop of Jagger. The 5 new songs they played were perfect sonic choices for the set, and all of the "audience participation" songs we've come to expect are indeed part of the show. David has adapted his stage vibe to allow him not to run around so much; however, it takes nothing away-- in fact, it is a bit fresh and fun to see a bit of a new persona. Christian's sharp, pulsing drums make you forget you are at the world's most decorated "electronic band," and Peter's skills on keys are immeasurable-- he can quite literally look out into the crowd the entire time he plays. M's clothes as of late reference early Hollywood Nights - Bob Seger Tribute attire with a strap attached to both legs in the back. The opener for the show, Kelly Lee Owens, is a STAND OUT. She fills the auditorium with her powerful feminine energy. She is the Chemical Brothers meets FKA Twigs with a dash of Welch spirituality. She is sheer brilliance-- watch that one-- her star is going to rise...fast. All of them look gorgeous-- M's tan Santa Barbara skin and sparkling blue eyes, D's lanky charisma and magnificent Roman nose, C's bright blonde hair and strong arms, and P's tall statuesque form topped by perfectly coiffed hair he tosses back every now and again. The 10/10 show-- but I've been to a show on every tour since 1984, and I'm quite sure I've never been anything but intoxicated. They are rock gods forever. I do get the feeling this is their last tour, so if I were you, I'd get tickets no matter the cost, travel, or effort involved.
